The “Medical Tourism – Possible Solutions in Bulgaria” Forum. The event took place on 3 June 2024 and brought together prominent Bulgarian doctors and specialists.
The forum focused the spotlight on best practices and specialists in the country. It showed the advantages of our medical services and provided useful information to patients on what their rights are and what risks they face when choosing treatment abroad.
The event brought together leading experts from the health sector and was held in four panels.
The first panel, Problems resulting from medical tourism and possible solutions, was attended by: Dr. Ivan Madjarov – Chairman of the Bulgarian Medical Association, Dr. Nikolay Sharkov – Chairman of the Bulgarian Dental Association, attorney-at-law Svilena Dimitrova – President of the Bulgarian Hospital Association and Dr. Svetla Kacharova – President of the Law Society for Medical Law and Healthcare. The moderator of the discussion was Elisaveta Petrova – Jerretto.
The second panel, devoted to reproductive health – options and preventive care in the country, was moderated by Arkadi Sharkov, and the participants were Dr. Georgi Stamenov – leading specialist in reproductive medicine in Bulgaria and founder of the Nadezhda Hospital, Dr. Stella Chapanova – specialist in reproductive medicine at the Nadezhda Hospital and Dr. Teodora Tikhomirova – obstetrician-gynecologist, specialist in reproductive medicine.
The third panel was dedicated to dentistry – potential and opportunities of the sector in Bulgaria. It was attended by Prof. Dimitar Filchev – dentist, co-founder of the Implant Dental Center at the Medical University of Sofia and founder of The Top Dental Center, Assoc. Pavel Panov – founder of Kotsilkovi Dental Clinic, Dr. Pavel Panov – founder of Mind Factory Training Center and Panov Dental Clinic. The conversation and discussion in the third panel were led by Desislava Vlasakieva.
Aesthetic Medicine – Beauty and Health Hand in Hand was the last, but undoubtedly one of the most interesting panels within the forum. In it, Dr. Radina Denkova – dermatologist, founder of the Clinic of Aesthetic and Clinical Dermatology – DR DENKOVA DERMATOLOGY, Dr. Stani Krastev – plastic and aesthetic surgeon, Dr. Tsvetelina Spiridonova. Ph.D. – Surgeon, Owner of Hygia Medical Institutions expressed their opinion and point of view regarding the service provided in Bulgaria and where our country is on the world map of plastic and aesthetic medicine. The moderator of the discussion was Dr. Elka Koeva.
